The Dance

The movie was finally over and when the lights came out I felt naked. They were all looking at us, trying to figure out what had happened during the movie. I am sure that for David or any of them it was nothing, but for me... a little something inside of me was invading me, like a decease that spreads through your body... like venom, that is exactly the way his touch felt.

I was so glad they were all very thoughtful and let me sit on the front seat. I didn't need to be close to him. They were all talking about the movie, likes, dislikes and what no. Me? ... I was just trying to recreate the feeling of his touch and the mesmerizing smile he had while he tried to "scared" me, I knew it wouldn't happen again and yet, I wanted to remember.

Until I finally got my act together and realized the stupidity of it all. I am sure now that he was just trying to make it fun for me, I mean, he probably thought "poor girl can't even understand the movie" now I feel ridiculous for having felt the way I did. ** deep breath** All is good, now let's try and understand SOMETHING of what they are saying!

We go and pick up Andy's girlfriend and her friend. I have to say that they were both very cute and nice, but that girl, well I just don't think she and Andy fit together, no that I know Andy that well anyway, but she just didn't feel right. Anyway, the other one was smiling a bit too much to David, it bothered me for a second and then I decided to talk to Joey, he was the funnest!

We all go to a Mall in which they are having a dance. A WHAT?!! I replied. How is it that I was told to wear casual clothes when we are going to a Dance?!! Oh my brother!! I was so embarrassed! until we walked in and everyone looked as casual.
Americans, they do things really funny sometimes.

To dance they go, some disco music is being played and they all go and do some weird moves. It looks like they are fishing, shoveling dirt, and more. I have to say I was a little relieved that no one knew me, I guess any feeling for David had disappeared, he can NOT dance! and what he can do he shouldn't do in public.
Then, a slow song came and everyone moved away, some with a partners came to the middle of the room and embraced each other and swayed with the music. My first thought.. BORING!! until I see that grin... the killer grin!!!! and I think he is looking at me, I want to turn around and check but I don't want to look stupid, but then he reaches for my hands and invites me to "dance" with him. I can't think, I just walk to him and put my hands.... What?! I have to touch him? ohh ohh wait a minute, the missionary is putting his hand on my back! and the other one is touching my other hand!!! Again, I don't want to look stupid, so I do the same and we sway back and forth, make really small talk and I completely avoid his eyes....

Way to go on not looking stupid! but then things changed a bit.

The Mummy returns...or you could call it our first date ;-)

Thursday night David called me and asked me if I would like to go with him and his friends to see The Mummy, to which I replied..."sure, that sounds fun" but inside I was going...
...wow!!!!!!!! WOOOWHOOOO!!! AMAZING!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT, I WILL ACTUALLY GO TO A MOVIE PREMIERE!!!!!!
But to him, I played it cool!

Friday came and I cleaned the apt, did my homework and got ready. I had to call David because I noticed not many people dressed up in this town and I wanted to know what to wear. The first thing that boy says is, don't wear high heels! He then told me that we were going to a Mexican restaurant before the movie, then to the movie and then to a mall. So I put on some cute jeans a cute little shirt and .... well the only thing besides heels I had were a pair of running shoes, so that is what I wore.

"The boys" came to get me, Joey and Andy. These two guys were David's best friends and they both served Spanish speaking missions so it was nice to be able to talk to them too. We picked David up and then went to get one more guy.

We went to the Mayan super cool pace, they have a little cliff in there and there are divers that jump every so often during dinner time. Click on the link to see pictures. Anyway while we were there David and his friends decided that I should practice my English and order food for everyone. That's when I thought...
...Yes, he is cute; yes, he is fun; yes, he is making me day dream for the past few days BUT why is he so mean??!! Doesn't he understand that the least thing that I want to do is to embarrass myself in front of him and his friends!!
But then, he asked me again with those green eyes, with that little grin on his face and I melted once more...........
... and I don't think that lady understood what I said so I pointed at the items on the menu. I don't think he was impressed! :-(
That day I tasted for the first time in my life "sour cream" it wasn't bad, but why would it anyone eat "plain Doritos" with that white cream? Only very white boys! that's who.

Then we headed to the theater. Somehow the seats they found were 3 in a row and 2 on the row above, not only that but they made David and I sit on the top row, very very next to each other..............***MELTING***
I kept telling myself, "breathe Belky" 'Not too hard!!" "Stop moving you might touch his arm!!" "Try to pay attention to the movie!!" "Wait, do you understand what they are saying ? because I don't!" "Why are you so worry about where his arm is, just watch the movie!!".................then......
.....AHH!! he poked me!! he touched me, he poked me!! my waist!! then he looked at me and had that killer grin on again. AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH WHY??!!!

He was trying to scare me in a very scary part of the movie, I would had have the right reaction if I were paying attention to the silly movie I SO wanted to see. He did the same a couple of times and I started smiling and looking into his green eyes when he looked at tme. Just digging my grave deeper as I realize how much I like his grin and his company. I just knew it wasn't the same for him, because we are too different and at the end we could never be anything. Just then I realized that actually hurt.

With that I finished watching my movie and actually understanding a little more of what it was about.
But the date wasn't over yet...

The call.

It was him...
.............. of course I felt like my knees were giving up one me, he was calling ME 10 seconds after I walked in the door....why but WHY??!!! am I feeling this way? I don't know but I am shaking it off right at this moment and go on with the payment of my Health insurance, after all that is why we are doing this!.....right?....

He came right away and we went to pay for things. I was grateful for his help and kind of sad that is was over but then he asked me if I was hungry.

WHY??! I am NOT hungry yet, at least not for "American" food. But somehow I said yes.

We had Subway at school and then headed back. As we walked we talked and talked. It was so easy to talk to him, somehow we never ran out of things to say.

The next day was just like the one before. I went to school and when I came home the phone rang almost immediately (maybe he was watching me) we headed to run more errands for me and then we would talk for a long time. Until he was kicked out of my apt. then we would move to the lobby.

Thursday night came and I was kind of down. I didn't have classes on Fridays and David had told me that he was going to be out with his friends, he was going to watch the release of The Mummy returns. Not only was I sad that he wasn't going to be around to keep me company, he was going to see the movie I was DYING to see!! my brother and I loved the first one and were dying to see the squeal, he had to wait another month to see it and it looked like I was going to wait a little more than that.

Or maybe not....
